So, you might ask, what’s with all the giant sculptures in Manhattan?  Well, they are part of the way that we, unique New Yorker’s express ourselves!  Many are considered art exhibits, and some are just for fun.  They can be found all over Manhattan, though some are temporary, like those on Park Avenue.  Here’s a brief rundown on where and what they are:

  • Spot (Dog on Taxi) — 430 E 34th St, at 1st Ave, Midtown East (NYU Langone)
  • Needle Threading a Button — 7th Ave & W 39th St, Garment District
  • Charging Bull — Bowling Green Park, Broadway & Morris St, Financial District
  • Giant Pigeon (“Dinosaur”) — High Line near W 30th St & 10th Ave, Chelsea
  • Fragile Giants (Park Avenue Animals) — Park Ave median between E 34th St & E 38th St, Midtown (seasonal)
  • Triumph of the Human Spirit — Foley Square, Centre St & Worth St, Lower Manhattan
  • Group of Four Trees — 28 Liberty St Plaza, Financial District
  • WhIsBe Sculptures (Gummy Bear / Rocket, etc.) — Oculus Plaza, 185 Greenwich St, Financial District (temporary)
  • Louise Nevelson Plaza Sculptures — 140 William St, Financial District
  • Prometheus — Rockefeller Center Plaza, 30 Rockefeller Plaza, Midtown
