Many people in Manhattan have toddlers. And we do things with them! As a visitor, you can do and enjoy the sites as well! While I haven’t listed restaurants, LOADS all over Manhattan are used to families that need high chairs. The only thing stopping me with a two-year-old is when she was done, SHE WAS DONE. All Done. Buh BYE dining until she was about 20. (Joking!)
American Museum of Natural History 200 Central Park West, New York, NY 10024 This massive museum is a toddler favorite for the Milstein Hall of Ocean Life, where a 94-foot blue whale hangs from the ceiling over a carpeted floor perfect for wandering. Children’s Museum of Manhattan (CMOM) 212 W 83rd St, New York, NY 10024 The entire third floor is dedicated to PlayWorks, an exhibit designed for ages four and under. It features a soft play area, a fire truck to climb, and a giant dragon to “feed” with letters.

Call in advance. Most have them.
Bring foldable light weights
Often, yes. NYC buses “kneel” to the curb, making it easier to board with a stroller. Also, the Open Stroller Pilot program now allows you to keep strollers open in designated areas on hundreds of bus routes, saving you from the “fold and carry” struggle.
By law, all newly renovated public restrooms in NYC must have them.
Reliable spots: High-end department stores (Saks, Bloomingdale’s), flagship stores (LEGO, Harry Potter), and public libraries.
Museums: Most have
Parks: Mayor Adams recently expanded changing tables to almost all feasible NYC Parks restrooms. Use the NYC Parks website to check specific playground facilities. For me this is a YUCK but in emergencies…
Restaurants: Many have them, but call in advance.
Legally, yellow taxis and green cabs are exempt from car seat requirements, and toddlers can sit on your lap (though it’s not the safest option). For Ubers or Lyfts, car seat laws do apply. You can specifically request an “Uber Car Seat” in the app for a $10 surcharge.
Save NYU Langone or Mount Sinai pediatric emergency numbers in your phone, but for minor issues, CityMD locations are available all over Manhattan.
