About

Central Park, the green heart of Manhattan, stretches from 59th Street to 110th Street and spans 843 acres of landscapes that offer something for everyone. Visitors can enter the park through several gateways, including the iconic entrances at Columbus Circle, Grand Army Plaza, 72nd Street, and 110th Street. Each entrance reveals a different aspect of the park’s beauty—from bustling meadows to quiet woodlands. During spring, Central Park bursts into color with cherry blossoms around the Reservoir, the Cherry Hill Fountain, and the Pilgrim Hill area near 72nd Street. Locals and visitors gather to take in the soft pink and white blooms that transform the park into one of New York City’s most magical sights.

Families are drawn to Central Park for its many playgrounds and open spaces. There are more than 20 playgrounds scattered throughout, including the popular Heckscher Playground near 65th Street, with giant slides, swings, and climbing rocks. Adventure seekers enjoy the Billy Johnson Playground on East 67th Street, known for its granite slides built into the landscape. Sports lovers flock to the Great Lawn and North Meadow, where baseball, soccer, and softball fields are active all summer long. The Brambles, a rustic area of winding paths and shaded glades west of the Ramble, is ideal for birdwatching and finding quiet moments away from the crowds.
