Waterfront Dining
Pier 57, Manhattan
Website: OFCORSICA
If you’re looking for a restaurant that earns its view, ofCorsica at Pier 57 delivers. Opened in 2025 by City Winery founder Michael Dorf, this Mediterranean spot sits on the western edge of Manhattan at Hudson River Park in Chelsea — and the Hudson sunsets from here are legitimately spectacular. Little Island floats in the distance across the water. On a clear evening, the light turns the river gold, and the outdoor areas capture every bit of it.
Inside, the design matches the setting. Arched ceilings soar overhead. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the dining room with light during the day; by night, warm amber lighting takes over. The space references the coast of Corsica — a French island that sits between France and Italy — with a neutral palette of pale cream and blue-green that feels relaxed rather than theme-restaurant obvious. Artwork by Tobi Kahn lines the walls. A communal table anchors the back of the room; curved banquette seating fills the rest.
Executive Chef Andrew Minitelli, who previously helmed IRIS and Osteria Morini, keeps the menu focused. On a recent visit, the Atlantic Swordfish Brochette ($42) stood out clearly. The fish arrived firm and well-charred from the grill, served over eggplant caponata. It was exactly the kind of dish the Mediterranean does well: simple technique, high-quality protein, bold supporting flavors. No fuss, no foam.
Other standouts include the Bucatini alla Vongole ($36) — Manila clams with leeks, garlic confit, and cherry tomato in a restrained broth — and the Chestnut Tagliatelle ($38) with wild boar ragù and Fiore Sardo. The lamb chops have drawn consistent praise from other diners and are worth ordering if they’re available. Starters like the Baccalà Croquettes ($19) with walnut romesco and the Grilled Montauk Squid ($28) with English peas, fava beans, and chorizo are solid ways to open the meal.
The bar program is one of the restaurant’s real selling points. ofCorsica holds the largest collection of Corsican wines in the United States — a claim that sounds like marketing but holds up. The sommelier, Jean-Jacques, is genuinely knowledgeable and approachable, happy to guide you through bottles you’ve never heard of. The island’s wines lean toward indigenous grape varieties with a salty minerality that works exceptionally well with the seafood-forward menu. A glass of the Yves Leccia Île de Beauté Blanc is a reliable entry point — crisp, dry, with a clean finish. Cocktails are Mediterranean-inspired and well-executed. Service is attentive without being overbearing. The room runs smoothly, and staff know the menu well.
ofCorsica is part of Pier 57’s broader reimagining as a waterfront destination, which also includes the James Beard Foundation–curated Market Hall, a rooftop park, and the Discovery Tank. One floor up, Miru — a Japanese listening lounge with a curated vinyl program and its own focused menu — makes for an easy second stop after dinner.
Reservations are open on Resy. The restaurant is closed on Mondays.
If it’s your first visit: Atlantic Swordfish Brochette and Bucatini alla Vongole. For the table to share: Crudo Trio and Grilled Montauk Squid. Drinks: Ask Jean-Jacques for a Corsican white pairing. The Île de Beauté Blanc is a safe, excellent choice.
The Hudson River sunset from Pier 57 is best from May through September when the sun sets late and directly over the water. The outdoor seating area captures it fully. Book a table for 7:00–7:30 PM in the summer if you want the full show. Little Island — the elevated park on the river — is visible from the pier and makes a good stop before or after dinner.
