Chinatown

Canal Street is famous for its electronics and knock off handbags, while Mott and Pell Streets host stores with traditional Chinese crafts and jewelry. Street vendors offer inexpensive toys, snacks, and novelty items, creating a vibrant open-air shopping experience. Many shops also sell festival supplies during Lunar New Year, with lanterns, paper decorations, and festive gifts adding color to the streets.

**CANAL STREET TIPS:

  • BRING CASH – $5s, $10s, $20- don’t let them see your money and always negotiate
  • ALL SALES ARE FINAL
  • Test your product:  Test zippers, smell them – yes.
  • Have a list and take screenshots
  • Pamphlet ladies: Catalog, and they drag you to a store.   Can be 5 – 7 minute walk
  • Guys on the street:  Have everything- Better prices, but quality might be less than the pamphlet ladies.
  • Have fun, bring a friend, and be nice!
