One of my favorite places in Manhattan, from traveling there by ferry to eating on the water.
The Financial District, or FiDi as locals love to call it, is where New York City’s history meets high energy and jaw-dropping views. It’s the southern tip of Manhattan, where skyscrapers glitter, cobblestone streets wind through historic landmarks, and the city’s financial heart beats fast. From the steps of Federal Hall to the iconic Charging Bull, FiDi isn’t just about finance—it’s about feeling the pulse of NYC at its most electric. And when you look up, you’ll see the shimmering skyline meeting the harbor, a sight that never gets old..
Of course, you can’t visit FiDi without getting out on the water. Take a harbor cruise, rent a sailboat at North Cove Marina, or hop on the Staten Island Ferry for unbeatable views of the Statue of Liberty—all just steps from the neighborhood’s busy streets. With its unbeatable mix of history, modern glamour, and waterfront adventure, the Financial District is proof that downtown Manhattan isn’t just about money—it’s about living large.
My favorite way, for sure! I love taking the ferry from East 36 (by the East River).
