DESCRIPTION:Under the Radar Festival is an influential annual theater and performance arts festival based in New York City that highlights bold\, experimental\, and multidisciplinary work from around the world as well as from national and local artists. Founded in 2005 by Mark Russell\, it has become one of the most anticipated events of the winter arts season. \nThe festival’s mission is to spotlight groundbreaking work that pushes the boundaries of traditional theater—blending performance\, dance\, spoken word\, multimedia\, and other creative forms—and to provide a platform for innovative voices responding to contemporary cultural and social issues. \nHeld each January across multiple venues throughout New York City\, Under the Radar invites audiences to experience new and adventurous productions in intimate settings\, accompanied by symposia\, pitch sessions\, and special events that support emerging and established artists alike
